Mikel Urdangarin

Years of success and experience, of tireless companions and hundreds of concerts, years in which we have seen the maturing of an audience that has always incorporated new blood. 

With a long career, Mikel Urdangarin, has become a reference for several generations and has been able to weave throughout his career a deep connection with the Basque public and also the rest of the world.

Almost 30 years since his first album, he continues to move forward with the same passion and authenticity that have made him one of the most influential figures in Basque music. Several generations have lived with Urdangarin’s songs anchored to their own experiences and several of his songs have become the soundtrack that has accompanied them at different moments of their lives. And that is the best thing that can happen to a song. 

As his friend Kirmen Uribe used to say, it seems that Mikel’s songs come out spontaneously, that he doesn’t put obstacles to the music he carries inside. And we listen to his songs with ease, although the work of composition has been very complex.

Urdangarin sings to love, life and universal themes from the point of view of an artist who claims his creativity in euskera, his language.

For him, concerts are an opportunity to excite: to generate emotion in his audience and to share his own emotion with them.

And for this reason, his artistic honesty and ability to connect with the public in a deep and sincere way have made him a reference not only for those who have grown up with his music, but also for the new generations.

Throughout all these years Mikel has had the good fortune to travel, either with his guitar, or with the piano; either accompanied, or alone, stages of countless countries. Very different audiences have enjoyed his honesty and his work on stage.
